I recently came across a 55 lincoln complete car with extra 341, trans. and extra set of trim for a 55 lincoln 2dr. Let me know your thoughts.
This car has complete original drivetrain, interior, factory A/C and it runs rough but it runs.

To me, the "body-rot" really comes into the mix! If it were me, I'd be looking that baby underneath, in the trunk, under the fenders, anywhere that might be a rust pocket! The "cancer" is what eats you alive on a project like this! How's the weather up there? P.S., if it has a lot of rust issues, I would probably p***, unless it would be a parts car.

OK The lincoln pictured i can get for around $800-$1000. I also found a rust free 55 lincoln with rebuilt motor and trans., brakes but missing all the trim for $3500-$4000. Are these fair prices or not.
    Thanks

    is that a 55 or a 54/53 ?....

  6. I would say those prices are pretty fair... I would be inclined to offer less for the "rust free" one though. Sometimes cars are uncommon because they really aren't that desirable. Meaning there's a smaller market.

Well the prices don't sound bad. Be aware these cars are not ford, there are very few parts that interchange. Been there, done that. Beautiful but spendy. Jack

    Prices vary allot by location.
Not enough info on the rust free car. Was the rust repaired or is it a rust free original? How's the interior? Don't know what it would bring in your area. Around here it wouldn't likely bring close to that. Shoot the seller an offer.
The one pictured will take allot of work and money to build, but if you can get it and the spare parts for $800 it's probably worth it.
Buy 'em both. Use the parts you need off the rusty one then part out what's left.

    Definitely a '55.

If you can get the rust free car and the one pictured plus all the extra stuff for the numbers you stated I don't know why you'd hesitate! Great cars!

The rust free one is original rust free. No patches or filler. There is alot of parts with the parts vehicle for $800. I know these are not the same as the ford Y-blocks. I have 3 341 engines and 3 fordomatics. I think I will buy both cars. Does anyone know the best way to tell the diffeence between the fordomatic trans and the turbo trans that backed the lincoln 341.
    Thanks

if anyone ever offers you more than you paid ---take it---oddball cars are a money trap and not for the faint of heart---kinda like fordors...
