Spring Baffles

I just put a set of lakester headers on my bbc and it is quite loud. I was looking into gettling baffle for them and I cam across these:

Has anyone used these or something similar before?

 

Or stick to something like this?

I can't imagine those springs would do much, I've seen the ones toshii put up there and those are usually just enough to take the edge off. The spring baffles look like they might be a bike builders way of getting around a law that says the exhaust must have a baffle. Just my guess though.
