Cragar BBC intake

    Looking for information on this piece. Cragar big block chevy magnesium?? intake,o-ringed top.Weighs a mere eleven pounds. Front pop off is painted red with Cragar in yellow.Any ideas,direction info is appreciated.

  2. That's a blower intake.

    My buddy has one for a 392 Hemi.

    I have run across the Hemi version,have yet to see the BBC version as I posted. As it being a blower intake,yes your are correct.

    welding magnesium isn't a problem..... I had a guy weld up a cracked main bearing support web in a midget block for me the night before a race one time

    not to say that I was standing right next to him while he did it though :D

    I have the same exact intake, I polished mine. I think all there bbc were alumnium. Yours looks like it was painted black and the aluminum is starting to corrode. Mine says crager in the same place in rear and also the pop off valve cover does too. I am also running a 2" blower spacer.

    A SBC Weiand 7136 aluminum intake weighs in at 20-lbs. How can a physically larger BBC intake weigh less?

    Maybe there is less material there ?
