Probably two thirds of my posts in ten years have been to help people … you don’t want to go there

    Hi, Greg...

What kinds of experts couldn't I.D. your '40? Is it 'off topic'? LOL

I thought the third shot looked good, crown looks correct, and waves are gone.

I had a similar experience with a '46 Club Coupe (FORD) that the P.O.'s kids had jumped on. (kids were in their 20s...???)
I used a Sundancer disc on it, (no water!) later painted it Cobalt Blue. (that's damn near black for the newbies)
Nary a wave...nice and straight. My ears are still ringing...

That was my '40. We still don't know what Greg is working on.

Was looking forward to this as I have the same problem, goats did me in. I've got 1/2's thread saved but always looking for more.

Well, after you take it off, try and fix it anyway, without the fear of screwing it up more is often key. It'll be good practice anyway. Do you think the other metal masters out there got it right their first try? Not.

X2 on the unitspotter trick. Worked like a champ for me. I've seen it used on the break line to pull the center taut, and on the center of the canning to draw in the loose. Hope ya get there!
