How much different with 88 truck manifolds be compared to headers from Sanderson? It has stock steering. I figure junk yard manifolds would be $60-80 with gaskets from a yard compared to $255 headers plus tax and ship. I'm doing separate 2.5 inch exhaust on each side with side exit in front of tires.

what do 88 truck manifolds look like? there are very few manifolds that work with the screwy steering on these cars. I had some manifolds on a 49 I bought that dumped to the rear right where the brake pedal arm went under the floor. the brake pedal arm would bottom out on the exhaust before it fully applied the brakes. really had to plan my stops well in advance until I fixed it.

Well I put a fire wall brake MC so that is ok with me. I don't know what they look like. I just saw from searches on here that 88-95 GM truck manifolds are rear dump and fit. Id get the Headers if its worth it but for $200 I could put that into other things if there wont be much difference.

I bought a set of Sanderson Headers for the small block in a 54 Chev and stock front suspension. The problem is the left side as you noted. The way the Sanderson's I purchased curved around at the head left VERY LITTLE room for spark plugs. Calling Sanderson got the "Oh by the way..." use the short accel plugs. Then spark plug wires, the boots would have to be heat resistant or shielded. At the time I bought the expensive ceramic boot wires and these turned out to be too big. I understand the flow advantage to headers, but those cast manifolds with there ease of real world access look really good.

Truck manifolds did not fit. Just bellow the end of it the reducer hit the steering. I ordered sanders. They fit great.
