i have been lurking this site for a year or two,and i dig it,very informative,i am currently working on a 1954 cheiftian special more door.very tired 268 flathead,3-speed synchromesh.the 54 is a true barnfind [i got pics of it ,wheels sunk 3inches in the gravel floor] original paint is still presentable.i have gathered a selection of parts including a 1955 287 [fully rebuilt]1955 3-speed synchro and bellhousing[out of forum members 1955 star cheif]also a 1960 389,1953 3.08 rear axle[current gears are 3.62]. my plans are the 60 389 with 670 heads,1966 tri-power,068 cam,12volt conversion,cold air,t******* stereo [hidden of course]and 14 flat at the nostagia drags,lowered 4 inches front and rear,and looking like grandmas stocker with wide whites.i am open to suggestions and advise on how to proceed.i also have a large collection of shop manuals and master parts catalogs dating back to 1942.so if i can be any help let me know.i may be slow to respond ,i type like a monkey and it is sometimes days before i look at my computer .i hope i am not rambling here but i am glad to be here.btw my handle is pronounced ricks indians rxndns
thanx hunter73, i am still learning how to use this forum,i will try to post some pics during spring break with my family this week.i would welcome pics of your ride too,under the hood,technical,or outside of the vehicle all would be of intrest.i dont know it all about pontiacs........yet.always trying to learn a little more!
