What can I use to remove pinstriping. I used oven cleaner on another car and it worked. I tried it this time and no luck. This is the same can I used before. Maybe it isn't as strong. I don't want to get aggresive because I don't want to re-paint, if possible.
I've used fine wet/dry sandpaper and buffed. Worked great. It was on a trunk lid and was way more than pinstripping. It was lettered Shake-Rattle and Roll. Came off real nice. I used 1000 grit and then 2000 grit. Ended up scuffing whole panel and buffing to give it all the same texture and look.
It all depends on how it was put on . Decal - I'd get the eraser wheel Otherwise it would be some form of wet sanding
Problem is, the tailgate has pinstriping on it, also. I would like to keep it if possible. What I want to take off is lettering, probably One Step paint. If I have to sand it, at least it's only the tailgate. Thanks, all.
if your talking painted pin stripe, easyoff oven cleaner. if on top of enamel paint lightly put on small amount with small brush, let sit just 5 6 minutes, wipe with water. if on top clear small deal, just dont let it sit on there for long. you will see how long it has to sit on there after first try. if you have flat paint or primer dont use it, it will take it off to bare metal!
