    DON'T DON'T DON'T put new valve seats in that block!! DO NOT DO IT!! It's a waste a $$$$ and a potential for harsh failure. Packard blocks are fantastic castings, more like "cast steel" than typical iron. Do not do it. You were sold a bill of goods if you were told it needs it. It doesn't, and I'll challenge anyone to prove me wrong.

    I think I have no choice do to the condition of the seats...corrosion...hope I don't end up with a granade for a motor

    Oh let them call it what they will Brian...you've got the slickest ride around bar none if you ask me...think the r.r. refrence was about mine not yours...which I dont think i'm going to be able to do the rat rod theme anyway... just get too picky when building...again your roadster is nothing short of a work of art

    They can be cut and seated. Unless that block was in mud for decades or has been severely abused, most will take to that well. Many here know I'm a Packard guy and have been for decades. Look around. I'm not talkin out my ass here. They can also be welded quite easily due to their metallurgy.
