I am in St. Charles MO area and I am looking for someone to teach me to TIG weld. I can gas, arc and mig weld already. Looking to learn how to set up and use my welder and produce great looking welds. Anyone able to help?
If you can gas weld, you will catch on to tig easily,,, look up weldingtipsandtricks.com you will learn a bunch.
kscarguy try this site. http://www.millerwelds.com/resources/calculators/tig_amperage_calculator.php Millerwelds.com also has an app for smart phones. I know its is hard sometimes to know where to start with polarity and current, tungsten selection cup size etc etc etc. This calculator will help you to take the guess work out of it. I agree that if you can ox/acet weld you will most likely pick up tig welding pretty quickly. If you have any questions about setup drop me pm and i will help get ya started. Rod
If ya have a smart phone do a search for welding apps and the Miller welds calculator should pop up. Very handy to get you in the ball park..... Rod
