I am making a HotRod out of a basket case 32 Five window coupe. Has anyone here ever Hotrodded a 32 Ford? Really what I need is some direction on the brake/clutch pedal set up. I am trying to do everything from scratch without buying too much stuff. I paln on using manual brakes, my trans is a toploader which has linkage. Any thoughts or things to watch out for? Thanks Steve
No one here has ever hotrodded a 32 Ford. You are a true trail blazer! Timing is everything; check out the April edition of Rod & Custom. The HAMB's very own Elpolacko is featured, with his wicked cool X-member kit, and pedal kit for 32 Fords. It starts on page 62. A must read for you lucky 32 Ford guys. Also search for Harv117's thread on pedal setups.
How novel,,someone building a hot rod 32,,,What a revolutionary idea! If you don't have the pedal setup 35 to 40 Ford will work. HRP
Nobody really Hot Rods '32 Fords, they only built them for one year, they really didn't catch on like Henry hoped

I have the original K member and pedals, but was not planning on using them. I found a mounting kit from Paul Hortons Welder Series I may order, the price is quite reasonable.
The way we did it back " in the day " was to use a 60 or so Chevey 1/2 combination brake/clutch master cylinder. http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?R=NMBP34404_0358911401 Use the clutch side to activate a hydraulic slave cylinder Get it all for cheap money at the salvage yard. .
Since you have the original pedal ***embly you can modify the brake pedal by cutting the tab off where the pedal attaches to the linkage and then welding it at 180 degrees to the orinal position. Idea from Vern Tardel in a book "Building an AV8" by Mike ishop I believe. This only applies if you're going to use the original K member...go flathead!
