1964 Chrysler Newport wagon as a daily driver...cool?

    The 64 Chrysler was an understated style, very much like what BMW was making 15 or 20 years later. Maybe too sophisticated for the time.

    Those big wagons are great cars. Big block V8. Torqueflite trans. Torsion bar suspension. One of those babies in top shape, with disc brakes and some good shocks can take you anywhere you want to go at any speed you like.

    Does anyone know who owns this one? I am curious about the wheel/tire setup and backspacing. Looks spot on

    well, i have put 1500 miles on it so far in the past month or so. the only mishap was the voltage reg taking a **** yesterday, no big deal

    From the front view especially, there's more than a little resemblance to an early 60's Valiant. Surprising that it carries over so well on a car that's so much larger, and 4 years newer. :cool:

    Hey there @freeze plug - this is a long shot, at best. In short, I have your '64 Chrysler! I really don't know how exactly we stumbled across this forum, but she's still running and driving here in Southern Maine!


    ...That being said, you don't happen to still have that 413, do you?
