Don't know if you've been there but it is a great time. We went when it was in Mahquaqeta (spell) last year. Met some great people, and had a good time. Friday night was fun and all day Sat. Hope Dubuque is as accomodating. If you can make it, Symco (near Amherst, WI) is a great, unique show in a great location....I think this is August. Tom
...been following your build, be nice to see it in Dubuque, you're gonna love the Torquefest, it's a great show.
Is that another coupe like your's? Sure looks a lot like it! I'd like a trailer too, but no room. So I just borrow a buddy's whenever I need one to haul.
So I ***ume he's got no room in the shop if it's sitting outside rusting away? What a shame to leave such a cool car outside!
Don't get your heart set on Symco they are very strict, and its a 64 and older show. They won't let in "D" spoke torque thrust wheels, because those wheels didn't come out until 65 for cars with disc brakes. www.meltdowndrags.com
Are you planning on running a support brace to the "french horn" ? That's a lot of weight hanging off the header and may crack it.
Thats a pretty cool idea on the exhaust and I see your reasoning. What diameter pipe are you using? I'm guessing Minnesota motor vehicle inspection doesn't have exhaust exit point in the rules?
You never stop amazing us with your talent. And what's wrong with the Stock Car guy's?? That red coupe needs some pictures taken after the snow is gone.
Damn that ****s! My pump was leaking the same place, but I was able to tighten down the bolts a tiny bit. It dripped for the first hour or so but then stopped. Looks like you wern't so lucky! I was wondering if I could buy another one of those gaskets, but I've never seen one.
I'm thinking that all the pumps must come out of the same factory. My NAPA stock style pump also leaked from the back plate when I first fired my motor last fall...I snugged the bolts best I could, and was ready to take the pump back out... Buddy of mine was over one day, and he said run it for a week and see what happens (apparently his did the same thing).... sure enough, less than 100 miles it sealed up and did not leak another drop.... I too will never put another in without taking apart and sealing the cover. They never were so ****py" back when"... Tom
That's crazy that the notch was even in there, wonder what that was about. I had my own troubles with the Henry J today, I'll update the going ons about that shortly.
I've never seen a pump for a Chevy with a notch in the back plate. That's just weird!! I put a Weiand aluminum water pump on mine and no problems.
