I don't know if he's a H.A.M.B.er, but I see that car all over the western states. The body was hand made, and if I'm not mistaken Rod&Custom did a full feature on it about 7 or 8 years ago. I'll dig it up if I can get a minute.
I dont think he is on the HAMB, but he is friends with several HAMBers. As impressive as that car is in the pics, its even better in person. And he likes to do long distance road trips in that car. Lots of them...
As you know Chip, I am wanting to build a period-correct, sixties era t-bucket at some point, I REALLY want to pick this guys brain about how he utilized the volkswagen fenders in forming the back of the bucket.
I sent him a pm. Looks like he stood the fender on end with the leading edge up, then cuts through the wheel arch in an arc, thats what forms the curve at the top of the bucket. Then he rolls a bead in the top. If/When I hear from the car owner, I'll post what he tells me. Now I gotta round up a '22/'25 cowl.
Never heard back from Enfo, gonna give this another bump. "Open the door man, ITS DAVE." Dave?" "Yea, man, its DAVE, open the door man." "Daves not here"
No, he is not on the HAMB. He is not on the computer at all. He is a good friend of mine and the car was at the GNRS because of my encouragement. Its a totally *****en car and Dave is a totally *****en guy that is down to earth and loves to talk about his car and his adventures if somone is willing to be interested. Sending PM....
