    I haven't been here in a while.
    I'm just kinda burned out.
I don't ride my bike much anymore, I don't think I even have the strength to kick it over.
The '34 Ford's sitting there waiting for me to fix it's shock crossmember.
The '60 Brookwood's fine, just drives back and forth to work.
I took my '54 Chevy out and actually washed it.

Nothing's much fun these days, not even boozing.
Music's still OK, it's the only thing keeping me sane.
My back hurts like hell, it's hard to sleep at night.

I'm thinking about going to see a psychiatrist.

Cheer up man - you need a show to go to or something, do a burn out that always helps. - I too have not been had the work bug, but it comes and goes when the schedule allows.

    I'd go see a DOCTOR!
You might have some health issue thats resulting in you feeling like you do. Lying on a couch won't help you with an internal issue and some health problems will show themselves with the symptoms you describe.

    Wish you all the best...

6.After sitting in a chair there for awhile, theres a big risk that you will pick up some tools, and slowly start working.

Look under the bed. That's where I find things that are lost sometimes....

I hope you get it back, you are missed, and the newbies are getting away with murder without you and Germ around... :D

Take your hot rod out and play with it.

Seriously... if you even think you need to talk to someone, DO IT. We all know the answers, but it takes the right questions...
It seems you're on the right road, and I'm proud of ya... and, you know there's a whole world of people who care about ya. :)

Chronic pain and lack of sleep can really skew your veiw on life. Be sure to see a doc about the back pain (I reckon that you already have), it sounds to me like that may be the root of your funk (but what do I know?).

Try to stay positive, you have a nice family, a roof over your head, some cool machines and some good freinds. You're doing all right.

Also, if you think it might help, by all means, go see the head shrinker.

    Hang in there man,
    Mike

Nads is a *****? Daayuum.....!

Seriously, good luck with getting the drive back.. I tend to fall into the "oh **** I've got so much to do I don't know where to start", then I do nothing.. ty making a list every day and get one or two things marked off the list, makes you feel like you've accomplished something anyway...

  23. Go see your family doctor. Sounds like you're suffering from depression.

If you are, he'll give ya' some drugs to help ya' outa' it.

If not, then just ask him to give ya' a good swift kick in the *** as you're payin' the bill on the way out the door ;) .

Get your back checked out! I ignored the pain(self medicated) and worked through it.Big mistake. For the past 15 years I've needed largs amounts of
pain killers just to function.Get healthy and the drive will come back.

Nads, Daytona is only two months away, get off your *** and get one of the cars ready for that. Once you get there, you will feel a whole lot better.
Hopefully I'll see you there, but if your back is bothering you, do what the others have suggested, see a doctor!

    NADS!
    READ THIS .
It's exercises my wife uses to relieve and readjust the sliding lumbar she has. She was having back pain about 5 or so years ago, went to Dr. and ha said "We will fuse 5 vertebrae" So I asked her if he was a surgeon and the answer was yes so I asked her to check out some holistic medicine first and she found a Dr. who's first and only answer to everything wasn't to cut and she started doing some exercises similar to Yoga.
    You know, Yoga?
Like the 105 year old people back in the old country still do?
Anyway, she still hasn't had any surgery.
She does Pilates at the Gym at Honda every day (They have a complete health spa and gym, and tennis courts, track golf putting green etc. where she works, tuff huh?) and she goes mountain and rock climbing damn near every weekend.

That exercise ball the site mentions?
She uses one instead of a makeup table stool.
(We have all seen you in makeup so don't lie) ;)

Do some Yoga like your grandma and you'll start feeling like getting laid like all those guys are suggesting above.

    Sincerely,
    DrJ

  30. Brian- That's really good advice. I know, too, what it's like to feel crushed.

For me, sometimes, I need to find the "Kryptonite" that's draining me and blast it into space.
Identify what ****s and get it out of your life.

I've known P.T.S.D. and I'm willing to bet those storms are taking a toll on you NADS and millions of others. I felt it on 9-11 and I live nowhere near New York. I feel it now, over the devistation in the South...
If the threat never goes away, the stress doesn't either.
Don't puss-out and fail to talk it out with someone... and, know it's okay when you need to sit right down and cry.
(I'm not a doctor, but, I play one on TV)
