BACKYARDIGAN STYLE! Had an old 70's partially boxed frame, got a Heavy 2X3 beam on each rail found a 1-1/2" dip right in the middle. Whoever said, "You DONT Have to Box A Rails", is full of shit. Cut it in the midlle 2/3 through C-clamped it straight to the 2X3 beam & welded it back together & more boxing plates. I cut the SBC mounts out & put a 324 Oldsmobile Rocket V8 in it, cause I had it there. Moved the rear crossmember center section back to lower the rear. All this done with my stick welder, Man I love that machine, it does some quick welding, it 4x4 over everything.
Yeah, you wanna box that frame if you're putting a rocket engine in there! Those things are heavy! Looking good so far, keep us posted.
Just made up a 4 link this morning on the fly. Arch welding get it done!!! Those are Lower Rear Chevelle arms, the lower ones are cut in half & extended, I used my MIG for that thinner metal
