I got a message from a friend with a picture of this car and some trucks. I tell him thats a 36 Chevy and ask where is it, and is if for sale. So the next morning I hook up and drive 2 hours to pick up the car. Its in pretty solid shape minus the floors. I was told that it sat in a barn for 40 years in west TN with a dirt floor. The drivetrain is still intact, I believe its a 207ci 6cyl. I have 2 other projects in front of this one (53 chevy,64 Chevy trucks) but I could not p*** it up especially so close to me. I was expecting to drive up north or out west to get a car. Here it is.

With exception to suicide doors and different grille shell the 36 is basically the same body style as the 35 Chevy that became the Chip Foose built car called "GrandMaster"

    Check this link: http://www.wildrods.com/feature/GrandMaster/index.html

Will do, I have already been researching parts. Im undecided on the driveline right now. Not sure if I want to use the original or go with a more modern one.

I think its against the law to call it a barn find when we can clearly see that it was in a parking lot when you got it :)

I hear ya, im glad it was already pulled from the barn when we loaded it up. One front wheel is locked up tight, but it was no match for the Case endloader that was hooked to it.

Nice find. We have a '36 sedan delivery with a 400 small block in it. Looks like yours needs door wood work. A little tricky to get new wood in and adjusted properly.

Good score. I didn't realize '36 Chevy cars still had so much wood in them until recently. I thought that was the turning point when more metal went into the structure. Either way, you got a nice sedan to build on. Good luck with her.

I noticed all the wood after I loaded it on the trailer. None the less I was glad to find this one close by. Thanks Im glad to see that I can still find some sheetmetal for it. Im going to start practicing my oxy/act welding before I begin this one.

Nice project you have there-- are you gonna restore it or make it a cruiser?

Going to make it a cruiser, keep all the fenders and running boards. 113" WB , going to look for a match and put a modern running gear under it.

I know a metal carpenter and he is going to use some 1" sqaure tubing to fight off the termites. :D
