Well after taking a break on this truck im back into it. I have both rear leaf springs clean and painted. The rear end was dropped and I am having the backing plates an drums blasted. Since I had to take the axles out to remove the backing plates, I spun the bearings with my hand. The seem to be just fine. Do I need to do anything to them? Do I have to do anything with the rear axle at all beside putting new gaskets?

  14. decided to check out the first place that came to mind for ya, and guess what? i found you a grill! http://www.dvap.com/parts/display/6964

check out those chrome thingies! not too bad for a quick search eh? i know its completely nowhere near you, but maybe you could get a guy from the hamb that lives over there to meet you halfway with it. just a suggestion.

    I pm'ed you!

Well I would like to use the stock bell crank carb and trans linkage but I cant find any info or leads on the kick down rod. I am missing just that to complete the linkage and nobody knows what other ford would work for my truck or where I can get one.

  19. Not familiar, but...saw a few for fordomatic on ebay. Seems that most came from t-birds, but I don't see why they wouldn't be the same as the truck(?) or at least close.

I had to do some repair on the front crossmember which consisted of a 4lb hand sledge, welder and grinder. I also did another coat of primer, still needs alittle more hefore I can shoot the top coat (gloss black) Im shooting for this saturday on the black. I will post some pictures of the work I have done that past few days this evening.

[IMG]Ok so after being busy with work and my 19 month old daughter I have slowly been getting back into the truck and a few other projects here and learning soo much frim you guys here on The Hamb!! Well here we go.

This first pic I had primed the whole frame and decided I cant leave this rip in the front crossmember so I borrowed a welder and yes I know..I need to buy my own haha. Well this was before.

Here is where I had hammered it flat then welded and uses a flap disc to smooth it out.

    And the aftermath...cant tell

Here is the back side of the front crossmember before

This is after alittle pounding with a four pound hand sledge and a dolly. Im very happy with the out coming.
