Just got 39 ford pick up project. Still has original frame
With front wishbones. Will a long tailshaft c4 trans fit?
It will be. Behind a 302

As far as I know there is only one tail shaft length.
I have a c4 in my 39 car and with a 8" rear, I had the have a driveshaft made up,you may get lucky and find one the correct length if ever one is to be had.

I would mock up a sbf block, and from back of block to trans mount and see what options you have for c4 tailshafts. I have a short c4 setup if you need a measurement. Driveshaft fitment would be last.

That's what I was thinking but thought someone may have
Tried this combination before. I have the longtailshaft tranny
If it will work if not . I'll be looking for a short tailshaft

I bought a Chassic Engeering trans kit,and the trans I used was from a 81 Granada.
The plate had holes for the trans mount were about 2" off , I Drilled new holes.
There shouldn,t be any other problem.
    I have a 8ba 49-53 flathead with c4 with Lockar shifter.

When my coupe had a C4, it fit in without much drama. The AOD in there now is a different story.

Ditto,...George / Maine The Chassis Engineering kits are just the ticket,.......I used the c4 kit, for use with the RUG 3 speed top loader, drilled holes where needed, and voila !!
