Hi All, I've cruised this board off and on for the last couple of years. Finally pulled the trigger and registered. It looks like a good place to share ideas, tips, humor, memories, photos, etc. I'm a Ford guy. BUT, I have a true appreciation for most anything cool, whether it's Mopar, GM, AMC (I even own a 1949 Willys Jeepster which can be considered a shirttail relative of Mopar and AMC),etc I totally dig stories about Do-it-Yourself projects. I have a 1965 Ford F100 that I've had since 1978 as a junior in high school (yes I'm that old) that I bought from my Dad for the sum of one rebuilt 292 Y-block and $250. Since then, it's had the stock 352, a 260 SBF, a 390, back to a 352, a 428, back to a 352, then back to the 428........ I'm threatening to put wingnuts on eveything next time. Lol It's ran the best of 12.95 at 105 with the first version of the 428 with 3800 stall, 4.30 TractionLoc on street tires...Not very streetable. The current version of the 428 combo is a best of 14.43 at 93 with a stock converter, 3.0 open 9". Very streetable AND 13.2 mpg on the highway. I've had my 1965 Mercury Comet 404 wagon since 1998. Bought it with 89,00 miles on it. Factory 289/C4, PB,PS AC, Wimbledon White/ Turquoise. Planned on putting the 428/C6 combo in it. Reeled my ambitions back a bit. 302/C4 going in shortly. 302 warmed over with fully ported '65 small chamber 289 heads with 1.94/ 1.60 valves. 2600 stall converter, 3.55 trac loc I hope to get involved in some threads soon!!! Thanks
