Does any one have any info on a motor home like this. Title says 1962 Chevrolet House Car. I have looked for several days and can not find anything on it. It appears to be a 1 ton dually chassis, inline 6 with a 3 speed on the tree. Any info would be helpful. I picked it up because it was a great deal, just not sure what I am getting into.

Having owned mh's since the 70's. I have never seen one or heard of one. The Chev chassis was never strong enough and most of the front ends had bags inside the coils to help. The 6 with a 3 speed would make you go mad when you hit an ant hill. I think it was home built. my first class c was a 22 foot with a dodge 440 and it was just OK.

I don't want to rain on your parade, but I would bet that you'll have a better chance for information at some RV website. While many of us do have experience with motorhomes, this is not the website I would turn to for advice. Best wishes with it. Always had great times in a few Class As.

:)here is a few pics:D Back when the RVs were not even called RVs yet , there were many small garages building motor homes. Likely most only built a few. When the gas crunch came along many went out of business. Here in northern Indiana was and still is the hotbed of motor home building.
