Hey guys. I'm swapping my old 216/3 speed for a 250/ power glide. I've been told by local rodders that a S10 rear end should work well. I want to keep the same 5x4.5 pattern. Trying to make it a quick swap.

What did you use in yours? Any pics?

Some where on here theres a list of almost every car and truck made for like 50 years and the dimensions of the rear axles...I'll try to find it again, I know I found it while searching info on Ford 9"

    it's 5 on 4 3/4" pattern.

4x4 S10, 55-64 Chevy car, 68-74 Nova, 67-69 Camaro, and several others will all work. You will need to change the spring perches on some of these.
Notice that the centerline of the rearend isn't directly over the spring bolt, so you will need to drill an offset hole in the spring perches to get the rearend centered in the wheel opening.

Thanks a lot man. You're right, 4 3/4, brain fart on my end! I have an old 72 nova rear end up at my buddys shop! Sweetness. The motor and tranny came out of the same car! Looks like I'll be cruising with some extra power sooner than expected. Thanks guys, allways a ton of help.

I asked this in another thread. need as much info as I can get.

I have a good frame under my 49 fleetline. I do not think a frame sub is a good idea, but I am trying to find the best donor car to harvest for parts. Has any one used an ECI Disc Brake Conversion Kit? They use a 70-77 Camaro/Firebird 73-76 Chevelle/Monte Carlo rotor and caliper. Watlon kit does not have any info about what they use. I was hoping I could get the master cylinder and the rear end from the same car
