Went to farm auction about month ago and got me another 34 ford cab. I had one years back i had a guy here in wichita ks build the ch***is for it and trashed it. He f+++++ the frame up so bad i didn't even want to fix what was there. I saw it here on the hamb about two or three weeks ago and feel sorry for who ever bought it. From steering box issues to poorly welded on shock mounts to front spring being in a bind from not mounting wishbones right. Many other things wrong to but to many to list. I bought a 34 ford truck bed it is on it's way to my house via shipping company. Having problems finding rear fenders for this though. Don't want fibergl*** at this point but i gots of work to do so ill keep searching.

Lots of luck finding a decent set of steel fenders for the rear. HRP

there's a set on the auction site with a starting bid of something like $1300 be prepared to pay for them if you want steel. rear fenders and doors alone worth more than the rest of the truck in most cases.

yeah--I'm running 31 chevy's. when my dad built the truck the first time in the 70's he did the same because a buddy had just pulled them off his car and the price was right. I like the little decorative bump in the bead at the center of the rear.

The rear fenders will definitely be hard to find, rare as hens teeth. I got lucky and found a nice set on the hamb. I do however have a right rear fender that Im not gonna use and I will gladly sell for a reasonable price. If patience gets the best of you fibergl*** may be best. Maybe a set of model A pickup rear fenders can be modfied to fit, they are reasonable in price.Good luck!

I gave up and put gl*** on the rear. I finally decided that good 33/34 fenders don't exist, at least for what I want to spend. There are more p***enger side doors than drivers side. farmers (like my Dad) Removed the drivers door for easy access. Usually big truck doors are better as they are up off the ground a ways.

Oh well i'm long way from them so in the long run. Probably run fibergl***. I thought about 34 coupe and try to make them fit. anyone done this.

I had a set of 34 truck fenders I sold to my uncle a couple years ago. pretty sure he still has em. He bought em to resell.....

I posted up a couple pics to ID them in a thread. pretty solid, couple cracks but one fender was bobbed by "someone" and the cut off piece is gone.

I can see what he wants for em. knowing my uncle he will think they are gold.

here's the thread, only posted a pic of the uncut one. bother were about the same condition.

Since there are no fender wells in your fronts I'd bet money that it never had any rear fenders. Lots of ton and a half cabs were harvested to make a P/U. I pieced together a 1 1/2 ton cab and a beat up P/U cab together back in the 80s. Rear fenders were unobtainable then. If you are building a truck for the street you might want to reconsider your anti fibergl*** stand. It's a noble thought but too pricey for my pocket book. I'm sure if I did spring for a pair some soccer mom on a cell phone would crumple them up. I have all steel on my current 34 (it came with them) but if something happens I'm sure it will get a fibergl***
    replacement.

Had a nice pair of rears about a year ago but a man I built a ch***is for in Colorado thought 1800 was a fair price so I'll be doing a highboy!

Tommy you are right this was a 1.5 ton. It has been cut behind the cab and the back half was at auction also. It was made into a trailer. rev kev6 Could you get a picture of the cut fender for me when you ask your uncle. I

I'll see what I can do, the back was cut 6-8" straight across with a die grinder.

    Gl*** fenders in the 80s.

steel fenders today. Many of the P/Us had dented tops from hauling pipes, fence posts and other long items. Not a problem with 1.5 tonners.

The back of the beige one was cut out. I replaced it with a 1 1/2 ton cab section.

just talked to my uncle, he has a 32 pickup body that he's trying to sell as a package with those fenders.

    edit:

off topic, but in case anyone is interested. the package that my uncle has is:
    32 pickup cab
    doors without hinges or regulators
    firewall
    cowl vent
    rear fenders as mentioned
    cut down bed
it's blasted in primer if I remember right

    wants $3500 for it

  20. Rear fenders are even more rare than the elusive doors for one of these trucks.

About 10 years ago I was at the fall hershey and a guy had a real good pair of doors for a 32-34 pu. he was asking all they were worth. I go back to him late in the day and made him an offer. He replys go ahead and give me what I want and I have some stuff at home I will throw in to sweeten the deal. Since we were only a couple hundred miles apart I agreed and said I would be at his house in a few weeks to get the rest of the stuff. When I walked in his garage I nearly flipped.. He had all the extras laying out.. A couple of tailgates, a couple of bed front panels, some small misc items and 2 PAIR OF STEEL REAR FENDERS. I sold the ruffest pair right away and still have the other set. In the end it is like he gave me the doors.
They are still out there, you just have to be in the right place at the right time and have some luck.

Congrats! They're getting hard to find and so are the parts. Take a look at the butchered X-member in my old 33 pickup when I bought it. I swear they had an allison engine/tank ****** in mine at one time. I used 40 ford "legs" complete with pedals...lined up great with the flathead clutch linkage....no photo of the repaired frame.

The easiest ones to modify would be '32 coupe- roadster ones.

I used 32's from brookville 1" wider and worked well with 56-57" wide rear ends

This one had no center Xmember at all when I got it just the front and rear cross members and a piece of 4" channel iron bolted across the frame to catch the trans mount. Back then they made kits for replacing butchered Xmembers for home builders. Today they want you to buy a whole frame.
