Do a search under 53-54 Chevy or chop tops....it has been beaten to death...But one of the best ones built no doubt!

I keep seeing this guy's name on here. Who the hell is Mike Ness? I guess I could google him, but since he's such a big deal on the HAMB I want to hear it from you guys. Nice Chevy, did he build it?

No, just torqued the head bolts. That counts, though, right?

    HEY RF,
OK, so he's famous on here because he has a gold plated torque wrench? I just caught the fact that Patty's kid built it. No wonder it's nice.

I realize that everybody who is loved on the HAMB is not a racer of builder. Lot's of skaters, BMXers, artists and musicians. I guess I'm a doink for not knowing, huh? Make yourself feel good and tell me who he in that sarcastic way you answer letters in your mag.

How about I just answer sarcastically in my mag instead? However, your question has already been answered. And to quickly clarify something, while at first I believed your comments to be sarcastic (not because everyone knows--or should know--Ness), my reply was based on an old hot topic regarding a certain image of him in a certain rod-culture magazine where he was shown torquing down a valve cover or something silly like that. Sorry that wasn't something you caught.

    RF,
No problema, man. I could stump you regarding bluegr*** pickers too. I did not see the thread you mentioned. I don't follow the culture, or Kulture or whatever it is. I'd be a little sarcastic too, given the **** I've seen sent to editors. Isn't Hot Topic a store in the mall?

    Rock stars with torque wrenches.

  12. Rockstars With Torquewrenches man! He was torqueing a head on his Vette mill.

Our little tonge in cheek thing was never meant as a slam on him, ask Sailor. RwT is about cool 53-54 Chevys and about the love of that bodystyle. Mike obviously loves his.

I didnt get a chance to slap some RwT stickers on him last winter but the sentinalT and I will try and cacth them in Denver later on.

Cole is the godfather of the 54, right after Steck, Hoffman etc.etc.:D I also hear there are compromising pictures of Cole and RF flaoting around on some internet pay site?

    Compromising? We didn't compromise anything...we gave 100%.

Mr. Chili, glad to see you understand I wasn't being a smart*** toward you, nor did I ***ume you really knew who Mike was. I just can't forget the whole wrench thing. Wish that sob would finish the interior on his '54, though...my broke *** will probably finish before him.

  16. Still? Wow, I thought that would have been done a while ago......

Hey Tman, the wife & I are going to the Nov 6 show (I think all the other dates are sold out), if you make it down here, give me a shout. Thinking about trying to get a bunch of people to drive their hot rods to the show and park in front of the venue....if its not snowing by then!

I got tix for 10/01 in NYC, gonna be a blast. I've seen em 3 times already and they never disappoint.

It pisses me off when I see dudes bashing Mike Ness, probably because he is famous and has the resources to have a car built by one of the best. Ness is a good amb***ador for the traditional rodding crowd. He ain't pretending that he's some great builder, but he's just a guy who's into what he's into and has a real genuine love and appreciation for traditional rods and customs.

I've been a huge social D fan for years, and his '54 in the first issue of HRD (the one where he's got the torque wrench) left a big mark on a 16 year old kid.

  23. back when that artical was written, I didnt really know who Cole was, only had seen his chevy pickup. I didnt realize the "buddy" Ness reffered to was our boy Cole!

Here is the link to Coles page on the car for those that dont know.

I had been seeing Cole Foster's name on here for a while. I researched and found out that he's quite the builder. Salinas boys rock! If you guys really want to see some great stuff, check out who his pop is. Pat Foster has done it all and done it well. Patty has driven, crewed and built some of the neatest **** on this whole planet.

  25. Yes, Pat does some cool ****, Cole drops in here every so often and gives us sneak peeks of his pops work.

While we are on the topic of rock stars and their cars. Check out the latest Rodders Journal that has Hetfields olds in it. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! Met him at the MoonEyes Xmas show last year. Very kool kat. As for Cole. I have dropped him a couple of pm' on here. Very kool and said at any time I am more than welcomed to come up and check out his shop up north. That itself is worth a weekend spent!
