I've just recently discovered this magazine. I have the last few months issues. Octobers issue has a feature on a 100 percent owner-built chopped '30 chevy. Lots of color photos and info on his story. This mag also has good DIY info in every issue.
I pick it up occasionally. But it is very inconsistant. Sometimes it downright ****s. And there is not a lot to offer the traditional crowd that they can't get a better dose of elsewhere. But then again if you would have read the site for a bit before opening your mouth you might have a clue... Now get your *** in gear do an intro as you were instructed when you signed up and sit back and take it all in....
Hey,I've gotta intro and I like SRB,too. Yeah, some times it's uneven, but the issues they've done devoted entirely to Model A's and '32's have been pretty good. They had a good issue on mounting fiberglas bodies to frames and sometimes even a comparison-several headlight styles on the same car for instance. Usually their tech stuff has enough photos to be actually helpful. Plus a good binding so you can keep the things. No mags perfect, but this one's pretty good. As for Guitarthug,we all could have told him he needed an intro first without jumping on him. Smart boy,he'd probably have taken the hint.No reason to fire until you see the whites of their eyes.
I used to buy Buckaroo publications quite regularly. Not so much any more, but still a lot more often than the offerings of their big corporate compe***or.
Agreed. Seems like a lot of the newer members have been "kicking ***" when newbies fail to into themselves. (if you don't have anything better to do - DON'T ) After you have been on the board for a while; you might just learn that "taking shots" doesn't make good friends.
Sorry if my comment offended anyone, I meant no disrespect. I am a redneck and I tend to cheer when people are handing out whuppin's. I was merely cringing at the thought of being on the receiving end of that particular "smack-down". Guitarthug, I look forward to reading your intro and appreciate your enthusiasm and I have looked over SRB and even had a friend with a feature car in it.
John, your comment wasn't one of the ones I was refering to. I think Guitarthug had just found this place, and was excited in sharing the information about the magazine. (I don't think he is trying to sell them) He DID fill in his profile - and maybe thought that it was the intro. (we could have just said, " Hey buddy, head back to the top of the forum headings; and let us know a little more about yourself. And WELCOME!" ) A couple of years ago the "flaming" of newbies got SO bad, Ryan kicked a bunch of people off! The HAMB is a place for EVERYONE, so let's be a a little more considerate.
I would like to appollagize if my comment was taken wrong.I hope this dosn't discourage you or anyone from enjoying the HAMB.
