OK, I'll confess. I have a dash fetish. I used a 47 Merc dash for my Hupmobile. Had to slice and dice that one quite a bit. I stretched a 48 Ford dash for my 51 Ford wagon. And, now I'm doing another shoebox wagon and I'm cutting up another dash. The shoebox wagons used the same basic dashes for 49 through 51. They looked very much like the 49-50 Ford p***enger car dashes, but were 5" more narrow. For this next woodie project, I'll be using an interior from a mid-60's Thunderbird with front buckets, wrap-around rear seat and the large console running up the center. So, I thought a 51 Ford p***enger car dash would look more at home with the T-bird parts. I got the 51 dash and took 5" out of the center. Once I got it tacked back together I realized I needed to reposition the instrument cluster. So, I shifted it left 2 1/2".
