Sounds like you're building this car:

I suggest you review this thread by -Brent- as he tackled the packaging issues for putting the A compontents in a T frame.

And if by "S-10 components" you are referring to a T-5 transmission (and based on what I've heard about the Model A trans, it's a good thought), you might want to review this thread about mating a T-5 to a torque tube. There is a poster in there who sells (or did sell) an adapter to go from an S-10 4x4 trans to a Model A torque tube.

Good luck, and keep us posted on the build!

Finally got my RPU mocked-up. After the LSRU I'm going to take it all back down and do some more welding and grinding on it, get it painted and hopefully have it together in time for the HAMB drags. My boy got the first drive as I rolled it out for some pics, haha.

I love this pic. I wish I would have had hot rods to sit in when I was a kid.

I dont know, other than a chance to tell us more about your build.
Maybe Cam from Slime Green could offer up a token prize since he is in the business and it is his thread after all.

However, it maybe seen as insider trading since we are all from CO.

  14. Just got back from Chickasha with my 27 roadster tub...it's going on a Winfield equipped '28 A chassis and a T pickup bed. Can't wait to tear into it!

WHOA! I love it! Any chance you can post some pics that show the roof?

  18. Thanks! It's in decent shape, looks like an older amateur restoration...bun panels have some holes (covered up by bolted on 'replacement panels') and the rear subframe has been hacked up. The doors are the nicest I've ever seen, no rust to be found, arrow straight, and they look to be free of filler. Ditto for the cowl...possibly one small spot of filler and a pinhole or two on the lower passenger side. Crazy thing is the lacquer paint that's on it - evidently it wasn't prepped correctly, you can chip the paint off with your fingernail but the metal underneath is pristine & shiny - no pitting. Not a bad deal for right at a grand.

Dumb question: Does the lip on the inside bottom of a closed car windshield frame go above or below the dash board? I think it's supposed to slide under the dash, but the way my fits has me wondering. The three tabs that the dash screws to interfere with the lip but maybe they're just bent down a bit.

I looked for ages to find a set and these came up on ebay last week. Cast aluminum. I'll cut out from the middle of the lower hole to the middle of the upper, it'll mate up perfect.

Macs sells them brand new reproductions, they are pretty nice.

I have a beautiful set of originals but have seen the Mac ones.

That body is sooo nice, i got a pile of junk that i am still uncertain if it is all T. Why are you looking for stancheons, those look pretty nice.
Anybody know where to get strikers? Those are hard to find too.

Just bought a set of staunchions from Macs, pretty nice but slightly lighter than stock thickness materials I think.
They also do the strikers but I bought mine from here in the UK to save a little money.

Those strikers aren't quite right, to mate as original you have to weld the 4 holes and drill 2 new ones. In your case it don't matter. I just don't want to drill thru weld filler stuff if i can help it.

I have one of those spot light/mirror units. It's missing the mirror, lens and reflector. Picked it up at a swap back in the early '60s and never got rid of it. Now I know what it fits. :D
