The one I have is pretty mint and was a case for a porta-power also. Had it so long can't remeber where I got it. Franco keeps eyeing it everytime he comes over, but I think even VF has decided it too nice to stripe.

Would make a GREAT cookie jar. :D

KC the female pinstriper from Chicago has one that she uses as her striping box that she takes to events and works outta. I always thought is was super neato. I'll see if I can dig up a photo.

Im going to get one of these tomorrow. The cool thing is it still has its porto power in the actual box. Ill post some pics tomorrow Im really curious about what it is worth with the actual tools in it since I just saw one sell on ebay for 480 dollars for just the box.

I believe a lot of these boxes were labeled Rocket Tool Co., or some such designation.

Blackhawks pop up for sale from time to time on Ebay. They are usually pretty big bucks.

Love it. How about building a bracket to attach it to the frame rails? Gary

Side note: re-purposed drop or belly tanks are used in the US Navy, and other air forces I presume, to haul luggage, golf clubs, spare parts, etc. on jets or other aircraft that can't carry a lot of cargo. They have custom doors for access and hang on ejector racks or centerline mounts. They call them "blivets" which is somewhat ironic as they can't be used for fuel anymore, or are anything like the rubber bladders used for fuel in combat areas that are also called blivets. I also knew a guy once who's nickname was Blivet, but that was probably because he was a tad useless most of the time (yet another definition of the term).

Just picked it up today and amazingly enough it still had some of the porto power in it too.

    Here it is.

    Inside.

And the tools inside there is no pump for the porto power.

After a while I hope to restore this box to look as nice as this with some pinstriping.

Blackhawk made at least 2 versions...the one under discussion is of course the hydraulic ram one. Chris has the one that came with the 7/16 ratchetset...really! B made a 7/16 set advertised to do all the work of 3/8 and 1/2 with many fewer parts needed.
Thes boxes are shockingly expensive now empty and beat up. I have no idea what a complete clean setup would bring over on Garage Journal.

Seems like with modern kit robotics you could make one that would follow you around the garage beeping...it cries out for more Atomic age development.

I am attending an A&P program at the local community college and it is held at the local airport. I took my box in to show them and there was a 2 cyl aircraft drone motor they have laying around. I might have to get a pic of it and photoshop it onto this box to see what it looks like. The best part about this find is I spent less than 100 on the box and I plan on using it and enjoying it.
