Bottle #2 of 3 for the silent auction at the fundraiser THIS Sunday. This one was painted by Voodoo Larry. The more money we raise on Sunday, the less we'll have to charge in September.

Max Grundy donated these limited edition, signed & numbered prints for the auction. Give your house a little class with some fine art! :D

Not really sure about a quarter midget. They're not go karts, but it would be a shame not to let them (depending on the engine). I'll have to get back to you on that one.

  10. Nothing special about the engine..just a modern ohv 6.5 hp from harbor freight..bone stock

We're saying "no bodies", but vintage 1/4 midgets would be an exception. I think we told someone "yes" before. I don't THINK the track owner will care as long as they're safe and the engines meet guidelines. If we get 2 or more, they could be their own class.

  13. sounds good to me,,,besides it's only a hand full of screws to remove the body...but then it looses it's "cool" appeal,,,,and like i said, the motor is a bone stock 6.5 hp ohv from harbor freight....

I'm not concerned about the engine so much. One of the things that will set this event apart from others is that we're not requiring everyone to run rae/expensive vintage engines. We just want to see vintage stuff on the track. The Meltdown vintage drags are the same way... vintage vehicle, whatever motor (as long as you don't see too much of it :) ).

The "no bodies" rule is to keep out the Shriner cars, and mini-camaros, and mini NASCAR crap out. They would violate the vintage rule anyway, but some people get confused.

  15. Not to be a jerk . Quarter midgets run on dirt. Pavement is not even close. You will end up on your lid.

  16. sure that s what they are supposed to do .....just like my 1938 fiat topolino was supposed to be eco transportation,,,,not built to be AA/FA drag cars....or street cruisers with hemi's in em...just like damn near every car here on the hamb...aint none of em was originally built to be hot rods......so far I've got about 20 hours of drive time in the quarter midget.....funny part is I only have the local blacktop streets to drive it on....no dirt.....aint been on my lid yet.....:eek::eek::eek:

Hey Topo Kid - We talked with the track owner and he was skeptical about quarter midgets, BUT he said that if their suspension, steering, braking, engine, etc is set up more like a kart, he would be ok with you running, BUT if those things are more like a car, then you would not be ok to run. We're already pushing boundaries and laws with the minibikes, so he's not so willing to push boundaries with re-defining "karts". If you're not sure, send me pix.

  21. ii can do that....I gotta drop it down out of the rafters so it'll take a day or so.....hell I can always bring it to display and drag some minis to race.......but a 1955 quarter midget is pretty much like a kart with a cover

That was my description of it, too. Like I said, as long as it is set up more like a kart than a car, it should be OK.
