Hey guys, I have looked all over but have not found an answer to my question yet. On the vin tag for my 1955 F100 under the color code it says RED now everything that I see list one letter for the color code. Is it the correct tag for your truck? Do the frame numbers ( mine didn't have frame numbers) match? I've built trucks with different pieces. I've never seen one stamped red either,sorta odd.
I think the "XE" would be part of it too. "E" was white if I remember right - no idea what the "X" would be. I have seen a few people ask about odd codes like this on F100s. I always thought maybe it was two-tone, but that's just a theory.
I also have a original blue 55 f100 and its say RED for the color to. Always thought it was a different tag since there was no sign of red ever but know idk
I went out in the garage today and found the vin stamped on the frame rail (front p***enger side) so everything is legit. Maybe someone will be able to shed some light on this. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
