When I pulled the 216 out of my 50 Chevy 3100 truck, I hand to unbolt two (or maybe four) front motor mount bolts that that went through the front frame cross member. For the two center bolts (with large holes), it seemed like there were two rubber washers (or maybe like donuts) that were underneath the frame where the nuts were. It was hard to tell with 60 years of gunk packed on the frame and whatever it was was completely rotted. The frame has two small holes and then two large between thw small holes. See Attached picture of the frame. Is there supposed to be a frame bushing between the frame and the bottom of the motor mount tray or does the motor mount just bolt directly to the frame? Don't know why the center holes are so large. See attached picture of front motor mount ***embly.
Your picture didn't come through but maybe this link will help to explain the different parts and how they go together: http://picasaweb.google.com/down2sea/FrontMotorMount***y#
Waldo53 - Thank you for the link. I saw a similar link on the Stovebolt forum. After I created this post, I started looking at a picture of the mount ***embly parts and a cross-section picture of an ***embled mount. The dim light bulb in my head got a little brighter when I understood how I though it worked. Your link and the other link confirmed what I was thinking. Thanks again.
