I am putting an S-10 5 Speed behind a Small Block Chevy. Can anyone tell me will the 10-1/2" disc Speedway sells for the flathead work? If so what throwout bearing would I use? Does someone offer a package?

I guess I'm a little confused. Chevy engine, modern Chevy transmission. Why not a Chevy clutch?

Is there a clutch you recommend? That is the only one I know of. The Chevy's had a long and short throwout bearing depending of pressure plate.

Why not use a stock GM clutch? 8 billion t5s came behind small blocks.

I used an 11"-14 spline out of a GM Safari Van.. Check out my thread "T5(S10) transmission install in 1929 Coupe".. Pictures and install info...

I think the only GM clutch that works is for a 4.3/5 speed '85 Astro van. Maybe they made them in '84, too. We used one in a '46 Chevy pickup 4X4.

  8. the Astro van clutch plate, had the correct spline for input on your 5 speed as 10 TRANS....
be sure and change out thecrankshaft's pilot bushing to one with a hole sized to the S 10 input shaft;s end,I believe these were Metric dimension there....
you dont use the astro's pressure plate nor flywheel= use the standard old chevy units

S-10 T5s had a 14 spline input, which severely limits the choices for clutch discs.

What did Dale use in his roadster pickup? Isn't that a SBC with a T-5 behind it?

To answer your question, we need to know what T5 you are using. Is it the non-world cl*** 14 spline input shaft or the world cl*** 26 spline input shaft version? Typically the 14 spline input shaft can use the 86-89 Astro van clutch package. You will need to trim about 3/8" off the end of the input shaft so it does not bottom out on the end of the crankshaft. Also, the majority of the 14 spline input shaft versions have the 4 bolt mounting pattern very similat to a Muncie gearbox style. However, you will have to run a 1/2" drillbit through the mounting holes on the gearbox for the 1/2" bolts needed to secure it to your GM bellhousing.

If you need more info, send me a PM and I'll help as much as I can.
