We displayed a couple of roadsters last year and the weather ****ed on setup day but the promoters bent over backwards to help any way possible. Lots of traditional stuff was present.

The only negative about the show was it`s way too quiet during the show. Had no excitement or buzz going other than the kid oriented stuff so people didn`t stay long.

My suggestion was to have a few local bands play revolving sets back in one corner (they have lots of room) to give the show some life and add entertainment value. Most local bands would jump at the chance to get some exposure at a hot rod show and the cost would be low. Perhaps some rockabilly or cl***ic rock bands.

This show has a lot of potential.

Heres the link to my thread from last year. I have no affiliation to the show but since Carl Caspers left years ago theres been nothing worth going to in town. I agree it had potentail. If my car was a little further along I would take it this year but I don't need to bring down the average! I'll be there at some point. I agree they need some more entertainment to convince people to stick around.

Any of you Dayton area guys ever see this 'T' around? It was owned by my Uncle in the early '70's:

The wife and I are heading over on friday morning with the Bucket it's in the show. A friend of mine talked us into showing there, he going to have his T/F cackle car there. Is this one of them shows that everybody sits with their car and sleeps, or reads books!!

I've been to the show the last three times. It's something to do on a Saturday when there's nothing else happening. The thing that most interests me is that the show reminds me of the early 60's get togethers.
Low key, rent a hall and get all of the local car clubs to enter, have a great time and have the community see, at one place, all the local area Hotrods.
I would tend to think it would have a larger audience if advertised on TV, Radio more. The locals know but the non-College Basketball guys do not!

    I'll be up there.

Muttley, that '27 coupe was built by **** Patton in the mid '60's. The car [stock] was sitting out behind the Thuma Dodge dealership in New Carlisle, Ohio for many years. **** put the car together and drove it for a short while before selling it. He never kept things too long. I don't know who bought it and I never saw it again. No information is available as **** p***ed away about twelve years ago.
