Many of the rods from the Pebble Beach Hot Rod display were there. What a fabulous collection of the real deal. I slept a few nights in the trailer with that little yellow roadster.
Thanks for the photos.

5. thanks for the pix.. guys-gals!

?were all the cars restored ?
seems that everything was all showy and nice .. were any cars just brought as being just found or left just the way it was done...
I was following some builds here on the HAMB -Facebook doing prep and makeovers to be period correct..- MAKIN EM SHOW WORTHY?.. .
I am all for the keeping up of old hot rods in any form do not redinto my question wrong....was the makeover all part of acceptance plan?
. just wonderin if any were shown " as is"

You are reading way too much into whether a car should unrestored or restored. I can speak for the little yellow roadster. It was a labor of love that the owner brought a rotted hulk back into the arena to show respect for the era. I spent a few nights in the trailer with that little car and I understand the love that a man has for a machine. Whether someones opinion is or isn't favorable means nothing.

I think it's gonna end up being one of those shows that everybody is gonna wish they had gone too.
The best part of the show was the people, I talked to soo many hot rod legends in one day it was nuts!!

Great photos and I agree with you on your statement, "everyone is going to wish they had attended." I really enjoyed myself and I am 72 years old.

You're absolutely right. This was the Woodstock of Hot Rods. Cars came
in from all over the country. There were cars on the floor that haven't been
together since the late forties and early fifties. This will never happen again.
Thanks to you guys for bringing your cars and thanks to Hot Rod Mag
for putting this together. Rich......

Yesterday, when we were leaving, there was some one in a lifetime photo ops. Ganahls 56 PU and the Winged Express. I was blessed to be there all three days. Glad I went.

Good work JJ. Scott Chessewiz Sullivan is legend. And the Gahnal fella is caretaker/promoter of this whole 'thing'.

Wow, great photos!

17. Great show. Unpretentious, in every way. Legends everywhere, cars and owners!

Thanks

18. We had a great time!

I got to meet quite a few people involved in the hobby, and more importantly, talk to a lot of owners of many *****en cars! I dig not only the traditional stuff, but a lot of the street machines that I saw in HRM as a kid!

You can see a lot of my pics on Instagram... look up Sam Strube or Strubillicious

The only thing I might change would be the location... I saw some of the fairgrounds people har***ing some old guys about loading their cars up. I felt bad for 'em.

So I tried to exercise the BFD out in the parking lot! Hahahahaha! Just to provide a distraction! Hahahahaha!!

My neck is sore today after the bouncing around! OUCH!

Sam

I was there on Thursday (set up). Definitely some amazing iconic cars.

But why for the 65th? and not the 75th?

It seems that the show wasn't heavily advertised and did not have the attendance you would normally see at a show. (I drove by on Saturday ).

Sam,
I didn't think that I would mention this.
The show was outstanding and memorable but when I was leaving, I got the same har***ment from the fairground people, these guys were like Hell's Angels at a Rolling Stone concert!

Now I'm hearing that I wasn't the only one to receive this rude treatment. Oh well, I guess they don't like seniors.

Maybe the organizers, or Fairplex people should be made aware of this.
Anyway, my two cents.

Bobby Green, Chuck G., & J.Fishbeck -

Great pics & event coverage! ... Thanks for sharing!

PS: I hope you don't mind, but I "borrowed" Bobby & Chuck's pics of the Varni~Barnett #909 belly tank and posted them in my The Markley Bros BELLY TANK – A Pictorial History thread.

Thanx for the trip down memory lane! Was AK's car restored? I'd love to see more images of the ch***is, etc. especially if there are photos from a restoration. Anyone? Google brings up a lot of good images, but nothing on the ch***is or power train. Gary

30. This car was right behind us, in the show. The original was in the museum.
