Well hello, again. My name is Tim and I'm a Hot Rod Addict. My current fix is a 1948 Chevy Fleetline Aerosedan. I was a member here a few years ago but let my membership lapse. And I gotta tell ya, Karma is a *****. Two months ago, my locked garage was broken into and nearly twenty thousand bucks worth of stuff was stolen. The **** couldn't get in the normal ways (windows or door) so he kicked the bottom of one of the garage doors in, right off the tracks, and crawled in like it was a doggy door. He then stole my Miller welder, my air tools, a bunch of my hand tools, a lot of model train stuff (yeah, I know.... TWO addictions) and worst of all, parts for my '48 Fleetline project, some of them harder to find than others. The good news was, the s***bag tried to sell some of my stuff less than two weeks after the break-in on ebay (apparently, the whole world is now your pawn shop). The listings included a Ron Francis wiring harness that was registered to me with a unique serial number on the fuse box.... which he took very clear pictures of for the ebay listing while bragging about how many of MY extra accessories came with it. The bad news was, ebay wouldn't do **** about it until the cops contacted them, and then still dragged their sorry ***es for thirty days before giving up the creeps name and address. They were fake, of course, (which clearly shows criminal intentions) but the jack*** used his real phone number. A real genius. Then he tells the cops he was just selling the stuff for some guy he barely knows, named Skip (no last name, no phone number, no address,). Riiiight. The bottom line is, the cops are threatening him with Felony Theft (fifteen years in the slammer if convicted), and I learned two very important lessons. Lesson One: Secure your garage doors with heavy duty locks or big C-clamps. And, Lesson Two: Don't let your H.A.M.B. Membership lapse. Neglecting either one is just asking for trouble.
    Tim

Welcome back Tim, Sorry to hear about your stuff, I hope they get him and convict him and get who is working with him. I am sure he was not working alone. Good Luck.

  5. Welcome back! Don't feel bad, where I'm at (C*** County, MO) unless it's child support or bad checks you don't get jail time for anything. Your best bet is to 'buy' an item back and beat his thieven' ***! (sorry, liars and thieves are the worst).

Thanks for the words of welcome and encouragement, Guys. I'm glad to be back. I'll keep you posted on the s***bag who stole my stuff. So far, he's admitted to selling my things, but for 'somebody else who must have stolen them' (his words). He also claims he doesn't 'know' the guy or anything about him, and now the ebay auctions are down and the police searched his house, but found nothing. Tim

That's unfortunate, I hope you are able to get some, if not all, of your things back.
