What transmission combo are you running? Weighing my options of swapping my 292/3 spd combo. They both need rebuilt so now I'm back to the drawing board.

Tell me a little bit about the t5 setup? Was there and issues with shifter hitting seats or cross member fitting? What Speedo and clutch pedel setup dis he use? Original hyd setup? Thanks.

I would strongly suggest looking for an M5R2 out of a Mid 90's F-150. The shifter location is much better then a T5, and they can normally be had for less then a T5, and it will bolt directly to a 351W. I run one in my '51 F-1 behind a Windsor, the gear ratios are perfect, and the shifter was within a 1/4" of the stock location. The main downside is it is a big transmission, not heavy, just big.

Did you have to fab up your own cross member to support that thing?

I put an M5R2 behind my 351W in a '66 Ford pickup. The shifter comes out the same hole that the farmer 4 shifter did, and the rear X-member just had to be moved back a few inches and new holes drilled in the frame rails to bolt it to. Mine was a 4 speed, I think that you might have to find a floor hump out of a 4 speed truck for clearance, as mentioned above, it's a BIG transmission.
The hydraulic clutch setup caused some headscratching to get it hooked up, but it can be done.

  8. I have a M5R2 behind a 302 for my 60. FrozenMerc is correct about it aligning almost perfectly.

Hate to bring up an old thread. By chance does anyone know if I need to remove the stock transmission crossmember to install a 351w and c6? Using the Transdapt motor and trans crossmembers. Thank for any advice.
