EDIT - UPDATE: The film is done and good to go! Check it out at www.wheretheyraced.com

It has been a REALLY long time, but WHERE THEY RACED - Speed Demons in the City of Angels is almost here. Starting next Tuesday the 12th you can watch a new episode every week on our website: www.wheretheyraced.com

Yesterday I showed clips from a few different episodes at the Motor Pres Guild lunch in hopes of getting some press coverage and maybe some funding / sponsorship.

I'm posting here so you guys can help spread the word to your car friends and because the HAMB community have been very kind over the years in helping me track down photos and info. Thank you HAMBers!

So visit the site, watch the trailer and tune in on 2/12/13 and every week afterwards.

Wow cool! Thank you very much for posting that to this sight. Would it be to much to ask you to bump it every Tuesday as a reminder? I'd love to see more of this.

Might be the best TV show going right now Harry. Just plug the laptop up to the TV and enjoy some L.A. racing history . . . great job!

Outstanding!. Excellent narration, too. Amazing sharpness and detail in some of those VERY old photos and clips. Interesting to see your long list of credits and sources, crews, showing how much work went into this, and the resulting quality shows. Thank you. More! more! :D

Well, I knew Harry Miller was L.A. and I knew Offy was L.A., but did not know one sprang from the other. Some damn cool ****, Harry.

Episode 3 part 2 is up...

In this episode Harold gets to finish his lap around the existing Santa Monica track in a 1913 Fiat, says goodbye to a 1911 National on its way back to Indy and talks about the 1916 crash that almost put an end to real road racing in Southern California.

You can watch all the previous episodes at wheretheyraced.com

Man! This is absolutely fantastic!! My Dad, born in 1906, saw many of these early Los Angeles races as a young boy and talked about them for the remainder of his life. Thanks so much for sharing.

I have been hungry for this history for all of my conscious years. (60 of them, started at 10!)
This is indeed climactic. I await the next ones eagerly. Thank you for real treasure!

Thanks for all the encouragement - glad you guys are liking it it. If anyone knows of any other boards that are as cool / busy as this - let me know so I can post there as well. Trying to get the word out to as many people as possible.

Been working away on the next episode - all about Board Tracks with a bit of this beautiful Miller thrown in. Life is getting in the way and I'm a bit behind, but I hope to get it done by next Tuesday.

We are in talks with potential funders in order to allow us to continue the series beyond the initial 10-15 episodes; and ultimately expand it across the nation. If you would like to enter this discussion email me at info@wheretheyraced.com

We will unfortunately delay releasing any more complete webisodes of WHERE THEY RACED until this is sorted out. However, as I promised new episodes every week I will continue to release short bonus HOT LAP segments with some of the great footage and stories that just did not fit into the main episode. This first HOT LAP comes from the unreleased BOARD TRACK episode and features Land Speed Record holder Charles Nearburg in his beautiful 1926 Miller 91 front wheel drive... The first episodes are still available here. Enjoy!

Sorry for the tease - but I gotta hold back the good stuff for the sponsors - or at least for the DVD.

Figure I should post this here as well in case some are subscribed to this thread... Also can anyone figure out why this embeds the video sometimes and not others?

I had a blast at the Hot Rod Magazine 65th Homecoming this past weekend at Wally Parks NHRA Museum & Ponona Fairplex. It was truly an amazing once in a lifetime collection of cars legendary racers, builders and more! One of many highlights for me was talking to Bruce Meyers who invented a true So Cal icon... the DUNE BUGGY!
