It's been a while since I posted out here for one reason or another. But starting to get into the grove again and finding some old tin. Located a basket case 55 Nomad that I'll be dragging home and this 1940 Chevy Coupe I am trying to get started just for the thrill of being able to actually drive it home rather than tow it home. It's a pretty solid old car with it's original driveline in running condition (battery and gas). Comes with a NOS flying lady hood ornament and two brand new bumpers still in the w****rs and several other spare parts. I saw it sitting under the blue tarp and guessed wrong model because of the wrong bumpers but could still see it was a 40''s coupe. A note, a phone call and a few dollars later and it's a done deal. Can someone tell me what these bumpers are from? Buick?
Great score there! And a 55 Nomad?! Gotta see photos of that one, too! the 40 Chevy is a sometimes overlooked car that has a versitile body style. Lowrider, g***er, custom. The six would be a real eye catcher and sound tuff with some dress up stuff & a split manifold spittin' thru some Smittys!
Looks like a nice body. To bad the doors don't match the body. The body is a master and the doors came off a special deluxe....
I love the early 40s GM rigs, they always remind me of The Great Gatsby even though they would've driven vehicles far more fancy. But I digress, looks like a pretty solid find you got there.
