I can't find what I am looking for, maybe you guys can help me?

My 34 Ford has 32-34 spindles, since the driver's side has the integral steering arm on top and it still has the king pins with mechanical brake provisions. someone hacked off the lower steering arms from both sides, and bolted on these horrible 70s-80s plate steel arms that go with the hairpins that are on this car too

I am swapping in a "safer" dropped axle, and converting back to an unsplit wishbone, and i would like to retain my current splindles if at all possible.

Does anyone make a bolt on lower steering arm??? all I see are 37-48 "larger" bolt pattern and I would rather not swap out my complete front brake system. Also, can anyone tell me what style backing plates I have? I know the pic is a bad angle, but it appears to be a bolt-up deal to the "small" early pattern spindles

I'll get some better pictures up tonight

Backing plates appear to be '39-'41 and have probably had the four mounting holes "slotted" for mounting to the early spindle, along with an adapter ring for centering on the spindle. I'll bet that cool ol' axle could tell some tall tales. DD

No one makes bolt on steering arms for 32-4 spindle bolt pattern. It would be cheaper in the overall picture to purchase a used set of 32-34 spindles that have not been modified. If you are replacing the axle and wishbones you will find that these spindles work very well to clear the steering arms and maintain the correct steering angle with out any additional modification. You backing plates are 1939-41 style and if they have all the adapters in place they can be easily swapped over to the spindles also.

thanks for the info! i happen to have another set of round back spindles already on another good dropped axle, i'll probably just use that setup since my current backing plates should then bolt right up (unless they got mangled if they were slotted)
