What are the stamped numbers (Suffix codes) on the flat pad surface, p***enger side front where the head meets the block.

Pull a valve cover for the casting numbers to see if those fuelie heads are large or small valves.

cast on 11/24/1964 (for 1965 production) 327 (great engine)
300HP and up with the 'double hump' heads

as others said post your suffix code off of the front stamp pad.

^^ As mentioned above^^ K244 is Nov. 24 64 so it would be a 1965 production motor, only small blocks made then was 327 and 283. Check your pad stamping or casting numbers for cubic inch and car/truck it would have been installed in. The valve covers are new.

an '870' block is a 327. It also has the large font casting number making it a Flint MI casting and possibly Corvette, (all vette enginges were Flint castings and not Tonowanda NY)

    How bad is the rust?
You would be surprised at how well rusty cylinders clean up with just a little elbow grease.
