Straight Axle / British Columbia ... Legal?

Planning to put a Chevrolet drop axle ('49 1/2ton) into a '57 Townsman.
Are there any legal implications with a swap like this?
Anything like.safety inspections, running on the street, insurance issues, etc.

Any and all ideas about this swap would be much appreciated .....

'57 will be powered by a 440 Dodge, with a gl*** 'flip' nose. .....

 

Fly at her, large modern trucks use straight axles, so there should be no problem on any of those fronts, as long as your drop isn't below the scrub line.
