There's one on ebay right now and it's up to $9250, but still hasn't hit the reserve. Just curious what these are worth nowdays. Looks like a real nice piece, complete w/pulleys and all.

All together now: "What Someone Will Pay"! :p :D

  3. Italmecchanica. What application were these designed for originally?

At these prices someone should begin manufacturing them again.

$5-$10K according to the lastest TRJ.

"Italmecchanica. What application were these designed for originally?"

All is revealed in the same issue. They made a bunch of sizes, the 4500cc one aimed squarely at the flathead.

Italmecchanica came first and had design/durability issues. Was re jigged as SCoT where it seems all the problems were fixed.

Today, either is worth a lot, as is a rebuild.

I'm sure someone is making a little blower that looks kinda like a SCoT, can't think of it off the top of my head.

Jeeeeze!! A friend of mine picked one up last year with the flattie for a grand. He already knew is was worth a few bucks, but boy is he gonna be suprised!

  8. You got what, 8 of them laying around, right Larry?

Apparently I'm nobody because I wouldn't pay that much for one. ;)

  9. According to the article from the April 1952 Hotrod posted Squirrel this isn't a S.C.O.T.T. Italmechanica went out of business before Scott entered the picture. The Italmecchannica is typical of lots of Italian Engineering. Looks great. runs great, has reliability problems. The Scott is a reengineered version.

This isn't clear in the auction listing. Is it still worth this kind of $$$?

What is S.C.O.T.T. an acronym for?

    Thanks for posting that.

Yeah, what he said. I think the acronym was actually S.Co.T.

Yeah but you would have 20k in the set-up and evrybody would say it's not an original so they would try to give ya 500.00 for it.

  14. No thanx...Ill stick with my 4-71. Besides, I could build half of my ride for the cost of that blower.

    Stuff that....

I have had several folks call asking to buy my blower in the last few weeks

I think that there just aren't many out there for sale

There are always going to be dealers that ask max$$$$$ for rare stuff

Probably a "toss up" between S.C.o.T blowers and Ardun heads.

The blowers seem to be coming up really fast--just a couple of years ago they were a fraction of Ardun prices; Now they seem to be rapidly approaching equality...

I just picked up a SprintEX supercharger, supposed to fit a small block with throttle body.

Looks just like the SCoT and it looks like an easy to adapt unit. I paid the big price of $275. for the unit but sometimes one must splurge.

I believe it is a scam that is why I posted that it was relisted. Early today I saw the new listing and noticed the Ardun heads in the background of the photo. I sent the seller an email asking if they were for sale also. Then I started wondering where did I see that picture before? It comes to me that just a few days back here on The H.A.M.B. as I was doing a search for info on Ardun heads. I get an email back from the guy offering to sell the whole package for just $7,200! But he would like to move it fast! (I bet he would!)
