just came here a minute ago and opened the HAMB, when I clicked on a thread I got this warning from my McAfee antivirus software:

    Whoa!

Are you sure you want to go there?

http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?... may be risky to visit.
Why were you redirected to this page?
    • When we visited this site, we found it exhibited one or more risky behaviors.

anybody else get this? I never get this warning on "regular" sites I visit all the time.

Haven't seen that one myself. Maybe McAfee is being a bit overzealous?

Ryan posted something about being hacked the other day, otherwise I would have just written it off as McAfee being goofy.

If it happens on some threads and not others, maybe it's something in someone's signature that's triggering it.

I have heard it explained the anti virus programs will note that a certain file on a certain server is infected, and label the whole server as su****ious.

Say you clicked on a thread that had a picture of somebody's hot rod. That picture is hosted on another site's server{s}, and somewhere on that particular server there is or was an infected file.

Baby with the bath water, so to speak...

I think we have been hacked again. I usually go through the jalopy journal too get too the HAMB, but there have been so many popups I had to go around it. I just got a virus attack alarm saying my antivirus security just blocked 2 viruses while I was going through Jalopy Journal area. HMMMM

I haven't got any interference on the HAMB

It's only risky if your wife catches you looking in the "cars for sale" site.

I'm getting it to. I even got it on this thread. I tried clearing my history, but it still pops up.

to clarify, I clicked on a few different random threads and got the same message, then I clicked "open anyway" or whatever it says on the McAfee WHOA! page and posted this thread. I think maybe that cleared it, ?? I don't know how these antivirus softwares work, I have never gone to a site after seeing the risky behavior message other than this one.

the wierd part is the site opened regular, but clicking on individual threads gave me the warning

This is probably the most likely explanation.

Does McAfee give you any web addresses that it thinks are su****ious, that don't include jalopyjournal.com?

Clear out your cookies and cache and all will be well.
That is what Ryan posted and it worked for me.

    SUPER MODERATOR

Just clicked on the Jalopy Journal main page, Alliance page, and about 10 threads here on the H.A.M.B. - no alerts.

Ryan has been working on the hack issue and it appears to be cleaned up, the back door locked, and the spammer run outta town on a rail.

If you are still getting warnings from your anti-virus or firewall software, log out, close your browser, clear cache, cookies, & history and try again - that fixed it for me.

  17. Looks like we got hit again. you have reported the thread correct?

Edit: I just followed the link that ratfink posted, it no longer exists. I am going to guess it was full of spam like so many other threads have been in the last week or two and the boss found it and just deleted the enytire thread.
