Found this today and I think it's a Pontiac 3x2 setup, but I can't find a part number on it anywhere...yes, I looked. It has a date code of L 19 7 on the bottom of the intake, so does that mean it is a 1958, or is it a 1957? It has a firing order the same as chevy...18436572....where's the part number located?...and what is that bracket hangin' off the side for?...thanks...
I believe the bracket is for the back end of the air conditioner compressor. If there is a water outlet under the water hose neck that the water pump connects to, it is 1963 or older.
I am pretty sure L would be 58 because it's the twelth month and usually around the 5th, or 6th month, they're on to the next year. I have a 58 370 I will take a look tomorrow if I can get to it to see what that bracket might be for if my motor has it.
thanks guys...so where is the part number located? The reason I ask is that if it is a 1957, it's for a 347. If it's a 1958, it's for a 370. The 347 part number is 528533, and the 1958 part number is 529571, according to my online search. Problem is...I can't find a part number on it...
here's an old post on a similar manifold. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3639243#post3639243
Here's a site I saved for reference on my 370, according to him there were no numbers cast in 57 or 58 on the three two setups, maybe if you contact him he can tell you what to look for but I am pretty sure it's a 58http://www.wallaceracing.com/intakedata.htm
Basically the same manifold in '57 & '58 to my knowledge the only difference is the thermostat housing. The one on your manifold looks like a '58 thermostat housing. KK
All Pontiac intakes from 1955-1958 had the 2 3/8" bolt holes on the right front of the manifold. It mounted the generator. This was changed for 1959. Your intake should use 3 small 2bbls. Starting in 1959, the 2 end carbs changed to the larger style. In 1966, they were all the large style. Your intake fits 1955-1960 heads. www.pontiacheaven.org
