So, I came across a 36 ford pickup. It's sitting on a 1 ton ch***is. It has a model a bed. The guy has 3 1/2 ton frames, 2 sets of fenders. One set is for a commercial truck. The cab is pretty rough. Needs basically the whole bottom 4 inches replaced on the cab. The bed isn't to bad. 3 grills and 3 shells. One is from a 35. A few Chevy, model a and dodge fenders. 36 radiator, headlights, running boards, and so on. The list goes on. He wants to sell the whole lot. The pickup, all parts and a 29 Mercedes fibergl*** kit car. Body and interior only. The price doesn't sound to bad to me but I'm 2 hours away and it would require quite a few trips to get this stuff home. Nor do I have a trailer for the pickup. I could scoop it all for $2500. Is it worth the effort and time? So back to the question. What would you do?

  2. without pictures it's hard to know for sure , but that sounds like a great deal. i think you could sell off the extras....and the kit car....and get you money back. then you would be in the project for nothing

That's as far as he is willing to move on the price.

Buy it, trade out some parts to friends to help move everything home.

It's a bargain if you have a use for it, or if you want to sell it off. If the Mercedes kit is complete and not damaged you should be able to get your money back on that alone.

If you are not in the business of selling stuff, and don't want to be, run away. Or p*** the info on to someone who can use it.

The rear axle is to wide for a uhaul trailer seeing how it has 4 wheels. Maybe I can work transport of the pickup into the deal. He has a trailer that will work. The kit car is just the bare fibergl*** body and the seats. That and everything else should fit in a box truck.
