What is the best choice for power windows to install into a 40 for truck door? I know that Nu-Relics are nice, but they are so dang expensive...are ther other choices that install easily and hold up to lots of use?
maybe O/T here but when I do them, I liked the "Ball" brand/cable drive electrics.....simple install and not much slop in the mechanisms.... They use a solid center post with heavy Nylon block guide to lift the gl*** on...... some others are designed to accomodate flat or curved gl*** so the allow for the" in out" movement [to do both] and when used on flat gl*** cars they allow slack or movement when the door is shut a bit harder than normal
My gl*** guy uses Electriclife kits and switches on his installs..His number is 951-789-8870, he can tell you on the ones to look out for..
I put Dolphin power windows in my 40 truck. They appear to be about the same as every knock off of the one vertical rail with the spiral drive coming from the motor type window. They went in easily and work smoothly. For how long? Who knows. They were a low buck unit. If you want to have a great warranty look at Specialty Power Windows stuff.
I put Speciality Power Windows in my 40 in 2000 and in a friends 37 2005. Easy to install, have a good tech line if needed. No problems with either. There are a lot of knockoffs of their products out there but they don't come close to SPW's quality. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.
I used 85 cutl*** regulators in my 40 panel they work awesome and you can adjust the window squareness easily
