These are a couple of custom hubcaps I created. Some of them are available in resin from RMCM. I also made these Cadillac Sombrero hubcaps. They are machined from Aluminum and the Cadillac crest is done in photoetch (two parts) and is detail painted in this photo. The Model Car Garage has this part in their catalog.
those are nice Rik! I went through some of the photos on your fotki and it never came to mind to check the stuff you have done in the modeling world. some really amazing stuff! I pretty much want all of those caps you showed lol I have some model car garage crests I plan to use with my Dudek Sombrero's. I don't know if you remember....but AMT used to have some really cool kustomizing parts for hubcaps in a few kits. I don't have any that I know of....but I am always looking.
Janne, not sure if your work was to cause this beauty or not...but I almost think it did lol In the modeling world....it usually takes some 1:1 inspiration or some imagination and an artistic approach to come up with something cool. Lately a lot of guys have been replicating or at least using elements from artwork in their models. You know you are doing good when people want their stuff to look the same.
Here is a boat load of reading! all 4 parts http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=629421
