i have a 55 Windsor with power brake and need a new master brake cylinder and booster but kanter, rockauto don´t have one. can anybody help me where i can get one? thanks
I had a 55 Plymouth that had a one year only master. This was the first year Chrysler had the master on the firewall. I don't remember what the difference was but you can adapt a double master cylinder and have safer brakes or go and install disc at the same time. Ed.
Look at a newer say intrepiod master there small and compact use small lines and work great I used a daytona on the frame on my 52 and it stopped very well. or look at a 1967/70 A body mopar unit.
Agree that you need to update with a dual master/booster. Adapt either the all drum or drum/disk setup for a 1968 Xler Newport. RockAuto has these remanufactured for about $120 without the core. Jack E/NJ
I would try TheRamMan.com phone# 817-429-0105. They deal in OEM Brake Components and advertise in one of the Mopar mags. He seems very knowledgeable. I don't know if he deals in Mopars that are that early. If he can not help you maybe he could direct you to someone who can. I would also call a Chrysler club and see if they have any recommendations. I would not modify. Someone out there can fix what you have. Good luck with your project.
