Finally got fully moved out of double-wide/country driveway the night before, after work loaded down a proj drivetrain to the lil' duplex garage in Eureka, the new neighbors gettin a further peek at What's Moving In (mostly been my wife/non car stuff so far), greeting me from the deck with, "What's that thing outta?", replying "223 outta '61 Ford!". Later found I'd locked myself out of a vehicle for the second time this week. Gotta love moving.
Finish sorting out new garage this morning, we'll be up at my Arcata shop re-sorting the storage so shop-bro can have his full half back (and '60 Chev stepside back inside).
Crusty Nut: hoping to make it to yer club's hangout tonight!

I could not even imagine moving all of my stuff. Hopefully you had a beer under everything heavy so people want to help, so they can get to the beer.

  3. We just went through this too. I feel for yas!

The house took one truck. The shop took four 26' truck loads and several pickup loads!

Moving is no fun, indeed. When I moved here from Reno 20 years ago, it took six months to move 40 cars, and 30 trailer loads of personal belongings and parts. Don't ever want to go through that again!

When our girls got married and moved on we considered moving and even did a little looking at some property further out in the country.

41 years ago when we bought this place we were in the country but suburbia has sprung up around us.

Reality finally set in that the nightmare of moving was something we didn't want to face,,so we are staying put. :D HRP

I've found that the ONLY good thing about moving is finding the stuff you forgot you had.

    Boy Timster,
You've been to my place and know just how much stuff is here and we won't even mention the S.G. house....... If I ever have to move, I think that I'd freak!!!!! Infact I can't even begin to know just where did I get most of this stuff from???????? I've been working on the T-ster for a couple of weeks now, gave it a new heart. It needs much more work. I luckilly have the help of Oscar and our breakfast club. Lots of things still warrant attention, but the reason I felt to add to your moving thread is that when I look around the back yard and I can tell ya, it looks different than when you last had a chance to visit.

Taking just one car out of the yard really does nothing. Now remember, there was a deuce ch***is on a trailer in the back yard which is now C'deuced 64c=a running car again. that trailer is at the SG house now. The parts that made the car totally came from the garage wall, under the work bench, the back yard, den, living room,Oscar's garage, s**** metal from IPS-So El Monte,so that's another car now on the road, a trailer that takes up lots of space moved to another place, so now that is 3 vacant spots.

Looking at the all of the other stuff I have ac***ulated over the past 30yr of playing the Hot Rod game, just to be able to have a 34, whether it be a roadster, coupe or woody, meant collecting stuff, the next being the Deuces=both 64 b&c and the BB stake truck. Looking around at the Model A Cabs,Frames, and god knows what else.
Since space is what is at hand here, 3 of the drivers aren't even here at the house, but at a pals, he's also keeping the Purple 34 rolling, I almost feel like that Joe Walsh song,"Lifes Been Good". Something about him having a Maseratti, now he don't drive. It's nice to see it roll up the street every now and then, and I remind myself, "Oh heck that's my 34".

Sometimes we just get too much stuff, so when one moves, keep only the stuff that you know for sure that you're going to use. All of the stuff that I have is slated for something that have here, I don't have any extras, really only enough just to build what is in the back yard. I have some pretty large dreams. I only hope that I stick around long enough to see them though.
