My names JD and I know I'm new but I'm full of fire, and love, I have a military jeep I restored, had a job 3 years ago but my boss had to let me go cause of the economy. I been takin care of my grandparents but my dream for a 32 is still alive and well. But I need to get my ranger fixed so When the time is right I can start lookin for a job in mechanics witch is what I love, but time will tell. I layed everything out as for as goals and skill level and time. I'm looking at a Flathead now, like I said everything will come. The 32 will be a, Flathead v8 with a Tremec t5, open drive rear 3:78. Look like a vintage 32 roadtser hot rod, but will out run any modern vehicle IF I CHOOSE Down the road though. Take a look at my album and tell me what ya think. I'm wondering if I do get this Flathead what will I have to do besides plugs and wires, taping up the carb for long term storage and still have it to roll over so when I take it to my builder it wont be stuck?
I'm on a slow budget but if you seen my bio you'll know why. I dont mind it at all, I'm looking up the engine and gonna go over to my cousins salvage yard and take a look at it to make sure it is an 8b engine and not cracked. Than save up for the rear rend and tranny. Than the rest will follow. My goal is: 1940's hot rod vintage look Performance handle, stop well.
JD, welcome from Kansas City, excellent project your going to undertake next...plenty of ideas and knowledge here, don't give up and stay focused!
Yes sir but grandparents come first, ya see if ya read my first post you'll see why it's takin me so long.
Welcome, JD, from Maryland. You seem like a good kid with his head on straight. Sounds like you have some great plans. Good luck with those. I think you have a bright future ahead of you..............Don.
Howdy i like pouring A.T.F. & WD40 in everything, then wrapping it in oily rags. Creosote sprayed in it helps too, worked when the floods got my car.
