Have a leaky rear axle outer seal. Replced seal last summer but noticed it leaking again in the fall. Removed brake drum and notice a groove in the part of the drum that goes into the seal. Not sure if the groove is supposed to be there. It is so perfect it looks like it belongs. Anyone familiar with old plymouth rear drums.
    Thanks, jim

The seal lip will wear a perfect groove like that over time.

    from cocoa, FL.

check out your local Napa. They may be able to get a redi-sleeve. It presses over your groovy drum and stops the leak.

Thanks all for the feed back. It looks like its time for a speedy sleeve.
